Lockington House

McIldowie Partners have been long term partners with the founders of MITS, Rick and Liz Tudor working over a period of years to find a property suitable for their vision.

The site eventually located in the Vaucluse on Richmond Hill included a 2 storey Victorian Mansion ‘Lockington’ and extensive garden area. Retaining and restoring the original house, a new residence and communal spaces have now been constructed at the rear in the vernacular of a modern inner urban neighborhood.

The heart of the residence is the Central Community Fire Pit inherent to indigenous Australian culture, the space creates an environment for learning, discussion and storytelling.
